Our new site is finally online! Welcome.

Our Vision

He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:29-31

Our mission is to provide a place where youth that have encountered hardships in life can come and find shelter in an environment that provides and teaches Christ-centered morals and values, love, discipline, and life and job skills that they can use out in the world. We will provide an atmosphere that encourages and guarantees success.

The Overall Idea, Abridged

On Eagles Wings will be a fully functioning farm with, fruits, vegetables and animals where kids that are having a rough time with life can come and live in a Christ-centered family environment where they will be surrounded by love, hard-work, discipline, intensive family counseling and Christian principals. The kids that come to stay for long or short term will have full interaction with the farm environment such as plowing up the land, reaping at harvest time, working with the animals, and other normal, daily farm chores.

There will be three types of kids that live on the farm.

One group will be kids that come in that are orphaned or without parents. They will be given a chance to stay permanently on the farm until they are 18 and ready to live life on their own. There will be a limited number of permanent spots available (6-8) and there will be separate housing for them as well. There will be house parents in each home that will be full time parent/counselor type folks. Youth in these programs will also be trained in life and job skills in order to be prepared for life on their own or to continue on to college.

Another group will be kids that come to stay for a period of time as designated by staff and parents depending on each different situation. This amount of time will be set up through a case plan for kids that are “troubled”, “at-risk” or “runaways” and are in need of some time away from home. This could be for up to six months. The main goal of the program will be to get these kids back home by means of mandatory family counseling. One of the requirements for staying at the farm will be that both parents and kids will be involved in at least weekly mediation and counseling.

The third group will be kids that are in foster care in need of short term placement or emergency shelter (ppc/police protective custody). We will provide short term care for babies on up to teenagers. There is a huge shortage of foster and shelter beds in the KC Metro area due to the high volume of kids in these situations. We hope to alleviate situations where kids have to be taken three hours or more outside of the KC metro area due to this lack of housing.

The number of kids we are able to house will depend on the number of buildings that are available at any given time. The buildings will be built only when funds are ample to complete the project. Hopefully the director’s house will already be established so that the program can begin on a small scale at conception. As more homes are built, the number of available beds will expand as will the programs. Most homes will hold six to eight kids and two house parents.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18
